Description

"Before learning from Stanley Mason, tea was just a nice drink. He showed me how to make great teas and also taught me the traditions of tea. What he gave to me, I passed on down to my sons. Please enjoy this simple blend of Assam and Darjeeling." - John Harney

Details: Stanley Mason's family had worked with tea for three generations in England. In 1933, he came to New York to help Americans learn to love tea. In 1960, he retired to Salisbury, Connecticut, and started Sarum Teas. It was then that he met John Harney. In 1970, he sold Sarum to John and another man. John agreed to get into the tea industry under the condition that "Stanley would teach him everything," and Stanley did pass on the experience of three generations of teamen to John. This tea was made to honor Stanley. Stanley would be so proud of John and his three generations of teamen!
Dry Leaves: The lighter leaves of the Darjeeling contrast with the dark Assam.
Liquor: A medium brown tea, lightened slightly by the Darjeeling.
Aroma: The aromas are subdued. Those that are apparent are dark malt and citrus aromas.
Flavors: Stanley did like his milk and sugar in his tea, and this blend is a good canvas of mild, dark honey and citrus.
 Caffeine Level: Caffeinated
Body: Medium-bodied, just the way Stanley liked it.
Brewing Time: 4 to 5 minutes
 Brewing Temp: 212º
