Iced Chai Latte

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (2 oz) boiling water
  • 1 Harney Chai Tea sachet (for a unique twist, use Chocolate Chai)
  • 1/4 tsp chai spice*
  • Ice
  • 1/2 cup (4 oz) milk or milk alternative
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp simple syrup

*Adding chai spice is optional if you want an even stronger chai flavor. You can purchase it pre-made or make it yourself – see recipe below.

Instructions

  • Pour the boiling water in a small bowl with the chai tea bag and chai spice. Allow the chai to steep for 5 minutes.
  • Carefully squeeze the tea bag to extract all of its flavors. Whisk the chai concentrate to ensure the spices are fully combined.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or other sweetener.
  • Add ice to your glass.
  • Add the chai concentrate and top with milk. Stir, taste, and add more maple syrup or sweetener, if desired.
  • If desired, garnish with a dusting of chai spice.
  • Enjoy!

Chai Spice

  • 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • ½ tsp black pepper

I brew Chia Hara in 1/2 gallon jars by pouring boiling water on the loose tea.

I leave the loose tea in the jars. When the jars are cool, I put them in the frig and serve as necessary.
