Best Teas to Drink in the Fall

Best Teas to Drink in the Fall

Tea and fall--we think they’re a match made in heaven. Whether you’re a pumpkin spice fan, apples are your thing, or you can’t get enough cinnamon, we’ve got a perfect tea to help you celebrate fall.

[Note: an earlier version of this post ran in the fall of 2019. Feel free to enjoy this updated version with a couple new teas added or enjoy it for the first time. Cheers!]

Ah, fall! While we enjoy summer and are certainly big fans of  tea shirts, we love that first crisp autumn day when you can break out your favorite sweater and anticipate the landscape changing from green to warm fall colors. There’s a fresh crispness in the air that we know will change to cold weather sooner than we might want, which is what makes fall so special. It’s limited edition: always leaves us wanting more. (You see what we did there, right?)

Fortunately for you, some of our best teas to drink in the fall aren’t limited edition, so you can enjoy them year-round if you wish—but autumn is an especially great time to savor these flavors. Which ones will you fall for?

Pumpkin Spice

Let’s face it, pumpkin owns fall. From pumpkin spice cereal to pumpkin spice Pringles (yes, they really made them), the pumpkin spice craze has taken over the country. We think, and our customers agree, our Pumpkin Spice Tea is a perfect pairing of a beautiful red Rooibos with pumpkin, cinnamon, and cloves. Go ahead, get your pumpkin spice on.

Hot Apple Spice

Fall’s other favorite round edible object, the apple, takes center stage in our Hot Apple Spice tea. This blend of black tea is bursting with apple pieces and flavor, cinnamon, orange peel and ground cloves. So fresh, you’ll swear we just picked it from the apple spice tree.

Cranberry Autumn

This tea is so delicious, we cranberry believe it! Black tea infused with cranberries and orange for a full-bodied, warm-your-body-all-over experience.

Can’t choose between Pumpkin Spice, Hot Apple Spice or Cranberry Autumn? Great news: you don’t have to! Our Fall Harvest Trio combines all three in one easy order. It’s 150 sachets of full-on fall flavor.

Hot Cinnamon Spice

It’s cinnamon, spice, and everything nice—that’s what our Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea is made of! Our most popular tea is perfect for this time of year. Warm and comforting, like a hug from your grandma without the comments about your hair.

African Autumn

Another awesome Rooibos offering, African Autumn is an herbal blend with cranberry and citrus. It has a fruity and slightly woodsy aroma that makes it a perfect fall tea. It’s like spending time around a bonfire but your clothes don’t smell like smoke the next day.

Rooibos Chai

Oh my, rooibos chai! With its clove, cardamom, and cinnamon spices, it will warm you up heart and soul. Imagine drinking a cookie from a cup—yep, there it is. Rooibos is naturally decaffeinated, so you can sip it by the fire to wind down your autumn day.

Black Cask Bourbon

Another tea perfect for slow sipping by a bonfire, Black Cask Bourbon combines the vanilla, caramel and smoky notes of a fine bourbon. Black tea, lapsang souchong and bourbon flavor for that faaahhhl feeling.

Mulled Plum Cider

Yea, it’s cider season! Truly one of fall’s best ambassadors, there’s nothing like the taste of cider to let you know what time of year it is. Our Mulled Plum Cider tea is full of flavor: plum, apple, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and more. So packed with fall goodness, you’ll be inspired to offer to rake your neighbor’s leaves… but you’ll just have another cup of tea instead.

There are few things that say “New England” like maple. If you think maple syrup should go on most everything, like some people feel about ketchup or bacon, then you’ll love our New England Breakfast tea. Black tea and warm maple flavor to get your day started right or to enjoy during the day for that breakfast-anytime feeling.

I drink Hot Cinnamon Spice every morning 365 without fail. My husband makes it for me in a French press and I buy it loose in the one pound package—so affordable that way! I discovered it a number of years ago after searching for over 40 years for a cinnamon orange spice tea. I didn’t know about Harney’s then when I moved out of D.C. and lost my source for tea. Harney’s saves my sanity every day!

I’ve enjoyed several of the teas mentioned, and planning to add Bartlett Pear to my collection. But today’s choice is Hot Cinnamon Spice, and plan on pairing it with some freshly baked apple crisp, made with huge Granny Smith & Jonagold apples, topped with a sugar cinnamon buttery streusel.

I second, or third, the suggestion for a fall sampler! We love Hot Cinnamon Spice in our family and my new favorite is Chocolate Chai Supreme, but now I want to try the Rooibos Chai, Black Cask Bourbon and Heirloom Bartlett Pear!

My favorite fall tea has to be Heirloom Bartlett Pear! The juicy pear flavor paired with warm spices and earthy green tea is perfect for sipping in the cooler weather. I might go make a cup right now!

Imagine a cold winter morning outside with a fresh foot of snow. Your off for the weekend with a hot toasty fire, a stack of hot cakes and a Piping Hot cut of New England Breakfast ! Could you please pass the syrup.

Indian Nimbu is my favorite cool weather tea. It is definitely a great winter tea. It has a caramel undertone with a citrus aroma and slightly sweet.

Nothing says Autumn to me like Cranberry Autumn. I love the tart flavor of cranberry mixed with orange in the fading sun of a fall day.

I agree with the couple that suggested a Fall Sampler! I’d buy a couple for my tea drinkers and myself👍 They all sound really good and we already love Hot Cinnamon Spice!

Russian Country is probably my favorite for sipping late afternoon in Autumn. Slightly smoky with a caramel finish it’s a perfect accompaniment for the crisp air and beauty of the season.

WOW ! They all look great. How in the world do we decide? Do you have or could you do a FALL special sampler? I have had a couple of those but when i run out I stick with the same and never get to taste the others.
