Many people think of chai as a cold-weather drink due to the warm spices that are chai’s hallmark. But there’s no reason to let warm weather keep you from enjoying this beloved tea! An iced chai latte is a perfect way to keep chai in your life year-round. Try this simple chai tea latte recipe and add some spice to your summer while still staying cool. Chai it today!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (2 oz) boiling water
- 1 Harney Chai Tea sachet (for a unique twist, use Chocolate Chai)
- 1/4 tsp chai spice*
- Ice
- 1/2 cup (4 oz) milk or milk alternative
- 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp simple syrup
*Adding chai spice is optional if you want an even stronger chai flavor. You can purchase it pre-made or make it yourself – see recipe below.
Instructions
- Pour the boiling water in a small bowl with the chai tea bag and chai spice. Allow the chai to steep for 5 minutes.
- Carefully squeeze the tea bag to extract all of its flavors. Whisk the chai concentrate to ensure the spices are fully combined.
- Add 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or other sweetener.
- Add ice to your glass.
- Add the chai concentrate and top with milk. Stir, taste, and add more maple syrup or sweetener, if desired.
- If desired, garnish with a dusting of chai spice.

- 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp ground cardamom
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- ½ tsp black pepper

I brew Chia Hara in 1/2 gallon jars by pouring boiling water on the loose tea.
I leave the loose tea in the jars. When the jars are cool, I put them in the frig and serve as necessary.
